I have 5+ years of expertise in Machine Learning and Data Analysis, specializing in predictive modeling, statistical algorithms, and data-centric business solutions across diverse sectors such as social, retail, and education.
I hold a Master’s degree in Data Science from Mercyhurst University, where I graduated with a 3.88 GPA, and a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune. Engineered scalable and high-efficient services using Python, TypeScript, and Scala, deployed on Lambda and ECS, to deliver personalized, keyword, and location-based recommendations through advanced recommendation models and optimized ElasticSearch/OpenSearch query algorithms.
• Configured environment to run Logstash on AWS ECS service and written complex query to generate and integrate data from MySQL and S3 data into ElasticSearch Cluster Index.
• Engineered Airflow DAGs to transfer production data to S3 data lakes and subsequently to RedShift.
• Enhanced an existing Model by introducing new features and re-training it, leading to a significant improvement in model accuracy from 74% to 85%. Deployed the model to provide real-time recommendations for members based on their preferences.
• Developed analytical pipelines to compute search metrics like MRR, MAP@K, and CTR, facilitating analysis on Event and Group searches to enhance search relevancy scores.
• Established an A/B test Dashboard environment using the Looker analysis tool, aiding in the evaluation of modifications to Models or Search algorithms.
• Designed an architecture to retrieve city locations and their polygon data from OpenStreetMap, integrating them into the ElasticSearch Index. Developed an API to filter events and groups based on selected city locations such as boroughs or neighborhoods.
• Developed Geo Location Search using ElasticSearch and replaced apis with traditional search that improved search relevancy by almost 60%.
• Implemented a model feature utilizing text embeddings vectorization to match Member search history with chapter descriptions using cosine similarity in PySpark, resulting in a 3% improvement in model accuracy.
• Managed the migration of AWS OpenSearch Service from ElasticSearch 7.10 to the latest OpenSearch version 2.7. Engineered the OpenSearch query algorithm to perform Semantic Search matching parallelly with exact text matching, enhancing search result relevance by almost 10.75% and reducing empty searches by approximately 72%.
• Led the full end-to-end model development process, encompassing candidate generation, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment to production. Optimized recommendation jobs generated by the model, enhancing performance and efficiency within Airflow workflows.
• Currently in the process of developing week-over-week trending searches by geo locations.
